Stock is versatile. Instead of the previous combination of beef and veg. and using the leftover stock, I casseroled some pork loin chops, and some potatoes, parsnips and butter beans. I again I cooked it slowly. It was pretty tasty, especially with some of the aforementioned home-made bread. Cold weather has its compensations!

Hello,
I love reading your blog but was a bit confused. Are you from England? There wasn't much in your bio about where you live or about you. I guess the American blogs get too personal. LOL I would love to see pics of your home. Do you live in the country or the city? My husband, daughter and I lived in Tipperary Ireland for several years and I love anything Englidh or Irish.
I'll be checking back.

Hi Miss Lila, good to hear from you. We live in the Staffordshire Moorlands, Noreen on a farm and I live in a cottage that was built in 1862.

Your recipe looks absolutely delicious. I shall definitely try something similar. In about 10 minutes we are going to sit down to homemade beef casserole and dumplings. Can hardly wait! x
I love soups, stews and hot foods during the cool weather. xx
